Ramadan is all about Ibadah and helping out your family members is one of the best Ibadahs; even prophet Muhammad SAW used to do it. If you haven’t been helping out at home already, these few tips are a good start, Insha’Allah. Fortunately, since it’s Ramadan your reward will be multiplied! May Allah SW accept our deeds and efforts to please Him, amen.
Help out in preparation of Iftar and Suhoor
Preparation of Iftar usually takes a huge part of the day in Ramadan. Helping out in it boosts your energy, enthusiasm, and bond as a family. The best part is that it’s not limited to cooking; setting up the table, preparing the salad, and buying the groceries are good options too.
Suggest some dishes for the menu plan
Sometimes we fail to comprehend the effect of planning meals for everyday in Ramadan; it is stressful. So, suggesting dishes might really help whoever is in charge of cooking. However, when suggesting a dish, let’s try to choose a simple one to save their time and efforts.
Help out with other household chores
Of course we know that household chores have no end! So, helping in other chores will be really appreciated. We can do the dishes after Iftar, do the laundry, tidy up the place, and the list goes on.
This is a very good opportunity for us to realize the huge effort our moms make in household chores, grow household responsibility, help and bond with our family members, and most importantly follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (saw). So, let’s make the best out of this Ramadan. May Allah SW accept our deeds and efforts to please Him, amen.
